Co-Founder Mohan Kumar, while trying to satisfy his wife Holiday’s pregnancy cravings, reached out to a friend – and James Beard nominee pastry chef – Sam Mason for help. Two quarts of pretzel ice cream and a few days later, they had an idea... Let’s open an ice cream company.
In June 2013, they opened an ice cream shop in Williamsburg, to long lines and critical acclaim. Taking inspiration from all over the world, they made ice cream In small batches – over 600 flavours, at last count. . . and they are all “wildly inventive” (New York Times), “famously oddball” (Vanity Fair), a “sucker punch to your taste buds, fantastic” (Stephen Colbert) and “so f*cking good” (David Chang, Momofuku).

We collaborated with LCD Soundsystem and Sony Music to create a special flavor for bands American Dream album release. The flavor (Peanut Butter S’mores) was such a huge hit that it has become part of our initial CPG launch in grocery. - (SONY MUSIC)
Our biggest collaboration success story was with Desus & Mero (“the Bodega Boys”) which launched in the late summer of 2020. Six (6!) unique flavors inspired by the New York City bodega. These “capsules” garnered a ton of media and sold very well! (SHOWTIME)
We collaborated with Sweet Chick, the popular NYC restaurant owned by Nas. We created a chicken and waffles sundae that consisted of Buttermilk Apple ice cream, on top of waffles and covered with fried chicken crisps, and brown butterscotch.
Baileys asked us to create a soft serve sundae for them and the result was the OddFellows x Baileys “Everyday Sundae” made with Baileys and coffee soft serve, topped with coffee soil, chocolate wafers, and Baileys caramel. (BAILEYS)
